I went to the LDS Church home pack dry cannery today with Willyne, Darin, and Benjamin.  We did 139 number 10 cans of sugar, 12 cans of black beans, 10 cans of rice, and 12 cans of macaroni.  Lots of lifting, then we took it all home to the basement ... more lifting.  If I was writing for my tax and money blog I would tell you how I believe this is a good investment and also a way to eat better food for less money.  But this is about Terreeeblay, so I will tell you that this work lasted most of 4 hours.  So that's where 30 minutes of slow walking and 30 minutes of weight lifting is coming from that you see below the eating in the livestrong chart.  Here are some

I have been considering what I can do to step up my efforts.  I am wanting to be able to hike with my family at high altitudes, and am concerned at how to prepare for that.  Losing weight and building strength and endurance are certainly important, but I don't feel like it is enough.  Today I was pondering this and got the idea that swimming laps might be a way to increase my lung capacity to help deal with the lack of oxygen at high elevations.  So ...

I walked 1.06 miles and climbed 43 feet in 20 minutes this evening. I listened to "The Laborers In The Vineyard" by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland in the Saturday afternoon session of the April 2012 General Conference while walking.    Two bookends at the beginning and end of this wonderful talk about the Savior's parable were:  "Why should you be jealous because I choose to be kind" and "It is not possible for you to sink lower than the infinite light of Christ's atonement shines". 


It is a real blessing to feel blessed physically and spiritually at the same time while on a simple stroll.  Total walking, for chapter 3 since resuming May 1, is 15.50 miles in 5 hours 58 minutes, with 248 feet climbed.   Here is a map and other details:
