"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

Mile 707.  That one's dedicated to the smiling Tortoise's father, he will know why ...

The picture and the day are dedicated to Hannah Beecher and Jaxon Savage, who had a wonderful wedding day!  Lou is blessed to have her as his niece.  For more pictures of their lovely day, along with information on Tortoise's early morning walk, please click below to continue reading ...

Mile 704.  One of the many excellent hills available to climb in Lou's habitat can be found by climbing the first mile or so of the Hurricane Rim Trail from the trailhead near highway 59.  Tortoise headed there early this evening and made his doctor happy with a solidly heart pumping walk.  To see a few more of his pictures and a map, followed by details of the walk and the day's walking thought by Gérald Caussé, please click below to continue reading ...

Mile 698.  Lou had a couple evening appointments in St. George, when those were complete he parked in the Sunset Corners shopping center and started heading up the Highway 18 trail.  Sure, it's near the highway, but as the picture above illustrates, great effort has been taken to make it a nice walking experience, separate from the vehicle traffic.  For more of Tortoise's pictures, a map plus additional details, and the day's walking thought by Rosemary Wixom, please click below to continue reading ...

Mile 694.  Tortoise did the loop up the hill from his office, with an extra leg to pick up one more hill.  Pictured above is a view not quite 2 miles into the walk at the north end of the ball fields looking back at the Hurricane Ridge and some nice looking clouds.  To see Lou's other pictures today, along with a map, details, and his walking thought from Thomas S. Monson, please click below to continue reading ...

Congratulations to Elder Michael Ragozzine on his mission accomplished in Des Moines, Iowa, and his fine Sacrament Meeting talk reporting on it today.  Willyne and I were invited to their family dinner afterwards, where we enjoyed visiting with Michael, and Darin, who flew in, basically for the day, for the occasion.  It was nice to visit for a moment and sneak in some hugs!
