We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

Day 90  -  I  walked 2.69 km  (1.67 miles)  and  climbed    
21.9 m (72 feet) in 00:31:04.  Today, I walked alone because Maggie was still asleep when I left, but look at the nice surprise I had when I returned home!

Series 2B totals 220.50 km (137.04 miles) in 46 hours 14 minutes, with 2301.5 m (7550 feet) climbed in 9 counties in 7 states.


While walking I listened to general conference talks by L. Tom Perry and D. Todd Christofferson.  I love how this energizes me spiritually and physically at the same time.  Elder Perry talked about the power of mother's teaching and example; Elder Christofferson spoke of the sacrifices made so we can have the scriptures and the tremendous blessing they are to us in our lives.  You can read more about it, including links to audio recordings of both talks at:  http://ibelieve-dougbeecher.blogspot.com/2011/08/holy-scriptures-worth-every-sacrifice.html
