"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

3-87

The Owl Patrol totem.  We made 12 of these.  Willyne and the Eagle Patrol made many, many more of theirs.  The initials are those of the 4 patrol members.  W2-591-12-5 is our course number assigned by national ... W2 is area 2 of the Western Region, 591 is Utah National Park Council's number, 12 is the year, and it is the 5th Wood Badge held by our council in 2012.  I know, more than you wanted to know ... but this IS the terreeeblay blog after all!

Each day of this Wood Badge camp, I walked at least as far and climbed as much as I did on Saturday, July 21, so I will count 0.79 miles, climbing 85 feet, in 20 minutes at Tifie Scout Camp in the mountains a few miles east of Mt. Pleasant, Sanpete County, Utah.  It was a HumanaFit category 5 climb. It was my 18th category 5 climb, and the sixth day in a row with one.  Totals of my category 5 climbs is 27.04 miles with 2,320 feet climbed in 10 hours 2 minutes.  Chapter 3 totals are now 87.44 miles walked in 34 hours 47 minutes, with 5,090 feet climbed, and 11 swims totalling 4,240 meters in 4 hour 34 minutes.

Today's last word ...

"Now, as my mind caught hold upon this thought, I cried within my heart: O Jesus, thou Son of God, ahave mercy on me, who ambin the cgall of bitterness, and am encircled about by the everlasting dchains of edeath.
"And now, behold, when I thought this, I could remember myapains bno more; yea, I was harrowed up by the memory of my sins no more."                                  -- Alma 36:18-19

  2. Mine are better ... but then I'm biased :-)

There food comes from Nicholas in Salt Lake. A little tastier than Sysco, but still definitely mass produced. And no mango salsa!
