"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

Today's last word ...

(From reading Habakkuk 2 and Alma 49)

"But the Lord is in his holy temple: let all the earth keepasilence before him."

-- Habakkuk 2:20

Don't you love how succinct the scriptures can be ... so many thoughts in one single line ... The importance of reverence and respect.  Of silence and  l  i  s  t  e  n  i  n  g to Him.  The earth is often so noisy, so full of pointless commotion.  The answer to all of it is in the silent majesty of the Lord, who always has the final word.  Let us each take some silent time and feel his healing influence!

Cheerio!

  1. Not sure if its just me not paying attention, or if its something that is a recent update, but just now noticing your Pacific Crest Trail tally running on the bottom right of your blog...love it!! Was talking to Benjamin last night, and we were getting pumped for the ascent next year, and really excited to finally get to do this with you. Thanks for the continual and daily motivation to get a little stronger and do a little more, and come next year we'll be together atop our summit!! :)

  2. I added the Pacific Coast Trail column item shortly after doing a 1.6 mile trail segment on June 14. You can read more about that walk, my source for the trail miles hiked, and a few pictures, on the Terreeeblay post for that day: http://terreeeblay.blogspot.com/2012/06/3-45.html

The tortoise is having fun! Thanks for your continued encouragement and support.
