"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

13-7

Pretty sunset looking towards Hurricane on my walk

Morning walk back from car repair shop.  Didn't expect this walking opportunity, as I thought they were going to do the work in a few minutes while I waited.  I did not have Garmin with me, and phone GPS stopped working well awhile ago.  Walk took 14:15, I'm sure I did at least 3 miles per hour, so we will say 0.71 miles and I know there was at least 20 feet climbed.

Retraced that walk a couple hours later to retrieve the car when they were done with it, in the same 14:15.  No climbing this direction.

At 5 pm just before dinner I walked to the halfway point of the LaVerkin Overlook Trail.  1.38 miles with 380 feet climbed in 39:18.

Chapter 13 totals through 7 days, 7.90 miles walked, with 1,397 feet climbed, in 3:17:09.  Please click here for another picture and other details ...

Surprising thing is both pictures were taken at the same time .. lots of difference in light!

I took my Youngevity mineral supplements and applied DuraCream to my arms this morning to help slow mole growth from the sun.  Took vitamins at midday and Crestor with dinner.  Total eating today: 1,402 calories.

Today's final word (with italics added by me) ...
Wherefore I spake unto them, saying: Hear ye the words of the prophet, ye who are a aremnant of the house of Israel, abbranch who have been broken off; chear ye the words of the prophet, which were written unto all the house of Israel, and liken them unto yourselves, that ye may have hope as well as your brethren from whom ye have been broken off; for after this manner has the prophet written.

President John Taylor wrote: “Joseph Smith, upwards of forty years ago, said to me: ‘Brother Taylor, you have received the Holy Ghost. Now follow the influence of that Spirit, and it will lead you into all truth, until by and by, it will become in you a principle of revelation.’ Then he told me never to arise in the morning without bowing before the Lord, and dedicating myself to him during that day. 1
