"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

Rocking chairs add a lot to an airport!

Walked from gate B5 to E14 in the Charlotte airport this morning, 0.75 miles in 15 minutes.  Stopped along the way for my go to airport breakfast:  Orange Carrot Karma and Steel Cut Oatmeal with Bananas (hold the overpowering brown sugar mix) from my friends at Jamba Juice.

Please click here to read on for a final word ... for the first part of the day.  I will make a separate post for the walk I did with Sarah, Chloe, and Abigail once I arrived in Gainesville.  A beautiful day it was!

"I say unto you, my sons, awere it not for these things, which have been kept and bpreserved by the hand of God, that we might cread and understand of his dmysteries, and have his ecommandments always before our eyes, that even our fathers would have dwindled in unbelief, and we should have been like unto our brethren, the Lamanites, who know nothing concerning these things, or even do not believe them when they are taught them, because of the ftraditions of their fathers, which are not correct."

                                                                                   -- Mosiah 1:5

Our view of life seems directly determined by the color and clarity of the glasses we view it through ... and its color and clarity seems initially determined by what we are taught in our youth, how much we question and exam those teachings, and how willing we are to exercise faith to discern truths that are not immediately evidenced by our five senses.   Benjamin never experienced any of the earth's geography beyond the American continents, yet had full faith in the existence in the lands and languages of his fathers.  Is that any more or less reasonable than faith in our eternal Father ... and any less important to how we view the world and our experiences in it?  How much different would our lives be without it?

Cheerio!
