"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

13-194

Sunrise over Zion in the distance

Three walks today ... home from work, back to work, and then home again.  The mileages vary slightly, one time the Garmin took a block or so to start working, another time I did a little extra meandering along the way.  Here's how it worked out:

Walk 1:  3.0 miles with 172 feet climbed in 58:44 minutes.  Heart beat maxed out at 116 and averaged 104.

Walk 2: 2.8 miles with 218 feet climbed in 54:50 minutes.  Heart beat maxed out at 127 and averaged 109.

Walk 3:  3.1 miles with 198 feet climbed in 1:00:12 hours.  Heart beat maxed out at 117 and averaged 106.

Totals:  8.9 miles with 588 feet climbed in 2:53:46 hours.  Footnote:  Total miles since June 28 - 29.95.

I like the way I feel inside.  If salads feel like scrubbers, this level of walking feels like double scrubbers!  But after 13 miles in the past 2 days, I am sore from head to toe and everywhere in between.  A good sore, but sore.

Cheerio!
