"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

14-304

Mile 870.  Today's walk took Tortoise 2.32 miles up and down the street from his office in 47:34 minutes. The construction across the street continues, it's shaping up to be a beautiful building for Paparazzi.. There were 34 feet climbed in 1.16 miles along the way, giving that section a 5.8 tortoise rating.  The rest of the path was flat or downhill.  Lou burned 348 calories doing this.

Please click below for a map and today's walking thought ...

Cheerio!

2014 Stats:

870.35 miles walked, which is 86.95% of my 2014 goal.
274:32:02 hours walked, which is 87.71% of my 2014 goal
42,761 total feet climbed
138,703 calories burned
83.39% of the year has passed

I've walked 35 consecutive non-Sundays since my last missed day on September 20, and overall have walked on 248 of the 2614 non-Sundays thus far in 2014, a 95.02% consistency rating.

The purpose of the percentages is to have a higher percentage of distance and time walked than of the year. This tells Tortoise that he is on track. Yes, this is more numbers than you are likely interested in, all Tortoise can say is he's really good at setting high goals and having them slip away because he doesn't do them every, every day.

And now for today's walking thought, from Jacob 1:7,

"Wherefore we labored diligently among our people, that we might persuade them to come unto Christ, and partake of the goodness of God, that they might enter into his rest"

The tortoise is smiling!
