This first batch of pictures for day 559, with a shoutout to our friends in Fresno, which at 500,000 population (1 million metro) is the largest city in America without an interstate highway. Doug and Doug have quality memories of the 41 freeway after midnight on the way to doing reunion research in Yosemite. Excellent magical mystery tour that was!
Here's the numbers; 4.53 miles walked with 440 feet climbed in 1:51:15. Does that even qualify as a tortoise pace (at 24:34 minutes per mile), or have we gone to a snail pace? Tortoise rating was 4.6, including a quarter mile stretch with 13% grade. Year to date miles 181.86 (6.60 ahead of goal); climbing 14,936 feet (833 ahead of goal.
The tortoise is smiling! Cheerio!
