"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

Day 111  - I walked 4.46 km (2.77 miles) with 30.2 m (99 feet) climbed in 00:48:00.  The climbing included 79 feet calculated by Humana Fit plus an estimated 20 feet climbing four half-flights of stairs  at the conclusion of the walk, which since it was done inside a building, HumanaFit's satellite didn't track.  Another note on today's walk.  You will note on the map that I'm not shown crossing the freeway on a bridge.  That's because the memory on the phone got full and it rebooted twice through that section of the walk.  When it restarted, it assumed I went directly from to the spot their satellite now showed I was at.  So, I walked a little farther than it says, and to make matters more interesting, this repeated at the end of the walk, so it also shows I took 5 minutes longer than I did.  The time I am reporting here reflects that correction, however, the mileage will stay short as I don't know exactly how much to add.  It was a good walk though.

Series 2B totals 298.20
km (185.33 miles) in 62 hours 7 minutes, with 3130.4 m (10,269 feet) climbed in 11 counties in 9 states.  Today Clark County, Nevada was added to my walking list.

For Benjamin:  I slept 7 1/4 hours last night.

Here is a picture of a park I walked through on my walk this morning.  I was disappointed because the walkways only went around the park, not through it.  If I wanted to walk through the trees it would have been on the grass, which had just been watered and was muddy.  However, if you are a dog lover, this is the park for you.  It had a special fenced off grassy area of a few acres to walk your dogs in -- and several people were doing just that.
