"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

13-17

Today the weather warmed up nicely, and I headed out for a walk between 5:15 and sundown, from my office up to Valley Academy where Ed Woodd joined me, then up to the top of East Cinder Knoll and back to the school.  Along the way the wind picked up, but it was still very nice conditions, including a nice sunset.  The walk totalled 1.76 miles with 457 feet climbed in 53:28 minutes, including that 15% average grade for the final 0.39 miles of the climb.  Chapter 13 totals through 17 days, 20.62 miles walked, with 3,070 feet climbed, in 8:23:37.  Please click here for additional details on my day ...

Took my Youngevity supplements and vitamins; also put Duracream on my hands, arms, face, and neck to heal sun damage.  Took Crestor, Omega 3, and cortisol support with my dinner.  Eating totalled 1911 calories.

Today's final word ...

from reading in Luke 14 and 2 Nephi 7

"When thou art abidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;
 "And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.
 "But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the alowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up bhigher: then shalt thou have cworship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.
 "For whosoever aexalteth himself shall be babased; and he thatchumbleth himself shall be exalted.

                                                                                       -- Luke 14:8-11

Be thou humble ...

Cheerio!
