"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

13-18

I was able to sneak out of the office about 3:15 for a quick walk before heading in to St. George with my sweetie at 4.  Headed up to East Cinder Knoll, knowing I couldn't make it all the way, so simply went as far as I could in 22 minutes and then retraced my steps in 18 minutes.

Total walk was 2.1 miles, with 285 feet climbed in 40:36.  Heart rate started at 82, peaked at 140, and averaged 114.  Here's a view from today's turnaround point:

Please click here for additional details of my day ...
Chapter 13 totals through 18 days, 22.72 miles walked, with 3,355 feet climbed, in 9:04:13.

Took my Youngevity supplements and vitamins; also put Duracream on my hands, arms, face, and neck to heal sun damage.  Took Crestor, Omega 3, and cortisol support with my dinner.  Eating totalled 2820 calories.

 Today's final word ...

from reading in Luke 15, 2 Nephi 8, and the scripture chain for D&C Sunday School lesson 3 ...

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a afamine of bread, nor a bthirst for water, but of hearing the cwords of the Lord:
"And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall arun to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it."

                                                                                -- Amos 8:11-12

I truly feel the loss when I go a day without eating, a day without water, a day without scripture, prayer, and meditation.  Each is a great need of my soul.

Cheerio!
