And his attempts to find variety in his walks, avoid Terreeeblay the treadmill, keep his doctor happy and himself alive and vibrant!
"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"
until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise
P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

Two walks today: First was 0.52 miles in 12 minutes with no climbing to meet Willyne and Doug Jr for lunch at Wendy's. Great company, and the walk made the food taste better :-) Then I made a quick trip to St. George to run two errands after the office closed at 5. After the errands, I headed up to do a new section of the Bluff Street trail, parking the car at 4200 North (last left turn before the Ledges exit on State Road 18) and walking down to highway milepost 6, then retracing my steps to the car. On this walk, I carried my 31 pound pack that I keep in the back of my car for opportunities just like this ... for this tortoise, it was a solid workout.
This walk was 3.36 miles with 402 feet climbed in 1:10:59 hours total elapsed time (including 52 seconds of picture taking breaks). Temperature: 92. Tortoise rating for the first half headed downhill: 6.0. Tortoise rating headed back up: 3.7. Total walked since 6/28: 112.63 miles.

This trail looks so righteous, and I love that you just have a backpack in your car for opportunities like this :)
