Glasses of water drank today: 6
Number of 4 mg Chlortrimeton allergy pills swallowed: 3
I took my Youngevity mineral supplements and my Nutrilite vitamins this morning. Also my newly prescribed supplements by Dr. Mel Carter: 10 mg Zetia, 500 mg Metformin, and 10 MEQ (don't know what that stands for, yet) of Potassium Chloride. That last one is meant to take the place of my daily banana eaten to prevent 3 am painful charley horses. Doc is trying to reduce sugar, even the naturally occurring variety such as bananas, in the tortoise's eating plan.
Took 20 mg crestor this evening.
First off, loved the Life is Like a Camera thought, thanks for sharing. Charley horses at 3 AM sound like the worst, I sincerely hope the new supplements from Dr Carter help. Hope you guys have a great conference weekend
ReplyDeleteThanks for the thanks and good wishes, Rachel! The bananas have been doing a great job of preventing the charley horses, and I dearly love them in my oatmeal (along with my triple fiber and yogurt, you probably shake your head thinking of that one, but I have come to quite enjoy it). But my BMI is still 35 after all the good things Mr. Tortoise has been doing, so he's asking me to take it up another notch and cut out bananas, potatoes, and horror of horror, even my Great Harvest bread. Hope I can learn how to make a good lettuce sandwich! I'm eating up what I have, but won't be replacing it. Thanks for your support, it actually helps a lot knowing I have to fess up to any and all booboos I make right here in Terreeeblayland, and that someone who cares about me is actually reading this stuff. Love!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the London Tube, all other subways systems hope they become the Tube when they grow up! So when I saw their camera goodness, I absolutely had to share ... glad you agree!
ReplyDeleteWhy do you have to give up Great Harvest bread and bananas?! This just doesn't seem right to me
ReplyDeleteWell, the good doc is asking me to give up these things, but I probably won't entirely ... just be more conscious to reduce how many of these things I eat. Basically any food such as a bread products, potatoes, rice, bananas, grapes, etc., etc. that essentially turns into pure sugar when you digest it is on his bad list. I was doing fine when I was keeping the calories down and the walking up, but it is true I have been on a weight plateau for a year now and do need to keep at this to keep my heart as healthy as possible. So, watch for more diligence from Mr. Tortoise, but not strict abstinence. :-)
