"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

14-37

Had 3 little walks today that totalled 3.79 miles with 215 feet climbed in 1:17:52 hours.  Tortoise rating:  5.2.  Calories burned:  602.  First walk was from the hotel to the Salt Palace to start the day.  Second one was a quick round trip back to the hotel during a break to get a folder.  Third one was to see Temple Square while it was still light, get some dinner, and walk Sarah by the hotel we all stayed at the night before she married Darin.  Good memories!

Ready to start the day!

Front and center for the opening session.  Sarah is pretty excited for Ree Drummond,
The Pioneer Woman.  Ree did tell a good story, which is what this conference is all about :-)

Here's the rest of the multitude sitting behind us.  We got great seats!

Dennis Brimhall, Family Search's CEO, getting ready to do his Top Ten list :-)

We're here to get ideas for our local family history fair this November.
Looks like 621 other folks are here for the same thing!

Welcome, Captain Jack!

Conference is over for the day.  Time for some walking!

Dinner time!

2014 Stats:

114.85 miles walked, which is 11.49% of my 2014 goal.
37:31:31 hours walked, which is 11.99% of my 2014 goal
  6,373 total feet climbed
18,285 calories burned
10.22% of the year has passed.
I've walked on 31 of the 32 non-Sundays thus far in 2014, a 96.88% consistency rating.

The purpose of the percentages is to have a higher percentage of distance and time walked than of the year. This tells me I am on track. I'm sure this is more numbers than you are interested in, all I can say is I'm really good at setting high goals and having them slip away because I don't do them every, every day.

 The tortoise is smiling!
