"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

14-38

Another 3 walk day, totalling 3.53 miles with 56 feet climbed in 1:19:28.  Tortoise rating:  5.6.  Calories burned:  467.   Benjamin came up to meet us at Sweet Tomatoes for dinner, after which we found an indoor location for an after dinner walk.  GPS reception was poor, so we had to improvise on the stats, we did 6 laps plus a walk each direction across the parking lot, so if anything we went farther than claimed here.  We also got to try out some surprisingly comfortable cheap furniture ...

You know the drill, so if you'd like more goodies, please click below to continue reading.

Cheerio!

The walk to Friday's conference sessions:

Then on to Pizza Night at the Library (in our case similar to drinking a pine float without the toothpick, I had a great time watching Sarah get excited to see the pictures and info on our family at FamilySearch. As for food, well we saved ourselves to hang with Benjamin at the wonderfully yummy land of scribbers!)

Followed by our fantastic indoor walk!

Had my sack lunch with my 1975-76 BYU roommate, Jeff Peters, in Ballroom D.
Sarah had a home ec class with one of Jeff's daughters, so she was enjoying this too!

Welcome to Scrubber Heaven!

After 6 laps I was ready to check this out.  Nice!

2014 Stats:

118.38 miles walked, which is 11.84% of my 2014 goal.
38:50:59 hours walked, which is 12.41% of my 2014 goal
  6,429 total feet climbed
18,752 calories burned
10.54% of the year has passed.
I've walked on 32 of the 33 non-Sundays thus far in 2014, a 96.97% consistency rating.

The purpose of the percentages is to have a higher percentage of distance and time walked than of the year. This tells me I am on track. I'm sure this is more numbers than you are interested in, all I can say is I'm really good at setting high goals and having them slip away because I don't do them every, every day.

 The tortoise is smiling!
