Cheerio!

Made it to the trail |

This advisory sign means well, but I'm not sure how effective the gate is at preventing dumping in the river. |
Made it to yesterday's turnaround point |
It is today's turnaround point as well. Compare today to yesterday's pictures, makes Lou smile how different things can look from one day to the next. |
Love this bright, cheerful plant! |
Crowded quarters for the horses. |
Back to Peck Road. Just about done. |
This evening Tortoise enjoyed dinner at Souplantation and passed this car in the parking building on the way. |
Tortoise completed today's 4.45 mile walk in 1:13:21 hours. Tortoise rating was 6.6, based on 84 feet climbed in the 2.23 mile uphill portion (average elevation 250). Although like yesterday, this walk approached 5 miles, it fell short of the Benjamin Category Override to a Tortoise rating of 5. 676 calories were burned along the way.
Here is a map of today's route:
And here are the overall stats so far for 2015:
201.87 miles walked, which is 20.15% of Lou's 2015 goal. On this day in 2014, Tortoise had walked 186.04 year-to-date miles.
58:52:03 hours walked, which is 18.81% of the 2015 goal (which is to walk 1 hour a day on the 313 days other than Sunday in the year)
10,432 total feet climbed, compared with 9,731 feet on this day in 2014.
30,327 calories burned
16.93% of the year has passed
Lou has walked 61 consecutive non-Sundays since his last missed day on December 22, and overall has walked on 351 of the 366 non-Sundays since the beginning of 2014, a 95.90% consistency rating.
The purpose of the percentages is to have a higher percentage of distance and time walked than of the year. This tells Tortoise that he is on track. Yes, this is more numbers than you are likely interested in, all Tortoise can say is he's really good at setting high goals and having them slip away because he doesn't do them every, every day. (If you doubt this, compare Tortoise's 2013 walking record with 2014)
And now for today's walking thought, initially presented in October 1996:
"We rejoice in our sure knowledge that “there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” With obedient hearts and eyes of faith, “we see that the gate of heaven is open unto all, even to those who will believe on the name of Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God.”
