We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

Day 102  - Doug Jr walked with me 4.09 km (2.54 miles) and climbed 219.2 m (719 feet, that's almost an average 11% grade) to the La Verkin Overlook and back in 01:35:40.

Series 2B totals 254.72 km (158.31 miles) in 53 hours 28 minutes, with 2778.4 m (9114 feet) climbed in 9 counties in 
7 states.

Listening today while walking:  to Doug Jr, along with a little Pandora music from one of my personal stations that he requested.


Here's the happy, sweaty hikers when they returned home


The total of 9 Series 3 walks is 46.41 km (28.84 mi) in 12 hours 35 minutes. Total distance climbed is 1476.2 m (4846 feet).  The nine walks so far were on February 12, 19, 26, May 7, 14, 21, June 11,  July 2, and today, August 19.



























For Benjamin:  I slept 6 1/2 hours last night.
