"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

190

The day began a few minutes before six, and this is what I looked like when I completed an overnight sleep apnea test.  Yes, I was able to sleep with all this gear on, but I was glad when it was over.  In a week I will learn the results.

It took until a little past 6:30 to get all of the probes off, complete the study questionnaires, and get in the car to head home to start:

Day 108  - I walked 6.71 km (4.17 miles) with 78.0 m (256 feet) climbed in 01:39:12.

Series 2B totals 275.97 km (171.52 miles) in 58 hours 5 minutes, with 3011.8 m (9880 feet) climbed in 9 counties in 7 states.

The total of 10 Series 3 walks is 53.12 km (33.01 mi) in 14 hours 14 minutes. Total distance climbed is 1554.2 m (5102 feet).  The ten walks so far were on February 12, 19, 26, May 7, 14, 21, June 11,  July 2, August 19, and today, August 26.  Thanks to Benjamin (see the comments below) for reminding me that this was a Series 3 walk.

I got to walk with Doug Jr and Josh today, a very nice treat.

For Benjamin:  I slept 6 1/2 hours today.

Willyne ... these delicate purple wild flowers are for you!

Have you ever seen a cactus shaped quite like this?

  1. Torch! After seeing the stats I thought it would be a series 3, that has to be the longest series 2!

  2. You're right ... it was a Series 3 walk, so I have added that to the post. Thanks for pointing this out, Benjamin!
