"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

Starting point:  A park one block northeast of the Church Office Building.  Never knew the park was there, just discovered it today!
Day 124  -  I walked 4.91 km (3.05 miles), with 102.1 m (335 feet) climbed, in 01:00:43. Tortoise rating of the uphill half of this walk was 3.6; HumanaFit rated this a category 4 climb.  I have a new respect for category 4 climbs, and especially for everything above that.  It doesn't look like much on TV when you watch the Tour De France, but try walking up one!  I was unexpectedly pummeled with rain on this walk, but was rewarded with some really pretty scenery in the middle of a major city.  A real treat!

Series 2B totals 344.19 km (213.41 miles) in 71 hours 21 minutes, with 3672.8 m (12,049 feet) climbed in 12 counties in 9 states.

Cheerio!

Walking through a pretty, wooded neighborhood on the way to Memory Park

This totally made me think of Jacob.  It started raining. Hard. Try to imagine a red MG convertible with a bride and groom posing for their pictures in the park. You never know what fun surprises you'll find on a Terreeeblay walk!
After walking through Memory Park I climbed to the top of the Avenues.  Here's a view looking down on the state capitol when the rain let up just a little.  Not easy to do in Salt Lake, that building sits on a hill above just about everything.
Night is fast approaching as I'm now about halfway through the Avenues.  This is a street of houses that dead ends on the hill above Memory Park.  I liked how it looks like the street runs into the Capitol Dome but doesn't.
