"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

3-77

I did two walks, on the campuses of the University of Georgia (in Athens, Clarke County) and Georgia Tech University (in Atlanta, Fulton County), as part of planned visits today.  Here's some pictures and maps of each walk:

This school has been here awhile!

The trees really helped keep the walking temperature more pleasant

Becca's favorite building :-)

The tortoise found hills to climb

I wonder how Ledge would pronounce this ... hmmm?

They wouldn't let me walk the steps, looks like there would have been plenty!

This sign at the electrical engineering building I visited
is typical of those seen across the campus

GT campus buses remind you of their devotion to Yellow Jackets

The total of the two walks was 2.51 miles, climbing 206 feet, in 55 minutes.  Both segments were rated Category  5 by HumanaFit; tortoise ratings were 6.0 in Athens and 5.9 in Atlanta.  Chapter 3 totals are now 77.36 miles walked in 30 hours 37 minutes, with 4,514 feet climbed, and 11 swims totalling 4,240 meters in 4 hour 34 minutes. It was my twelfth category 5 climb, and first since July 12.  Totals of my category 5 climbs is 22.30 miles with 1,810 feet climbed in 8 hours 2 minutes.

Today's last word ... In reading Alma 30 I saw this:

But Alma said unto him: Thou hast had signs enough; will ye tempt your God? Will ye say, Show unto me a sign, when ye have the testimony of aall these thy brethren, and also all the holy prophets? The scriptures are laid before thee, yea, and all things denote there is a God; yea, even the bearth, and call things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its dmotion, yea, and also all theeplanets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator.  - Alma 30:44

We really do live in a blessed, amazing world.   It is beautiful.  Heavenly Father thought of every detail of what every living thing would need to support life and made certain that every bit of it was here ... before any of us were.  The motion of the planets mentioned by Alma is just one of these things that support life.  What he says is true, truly all things do denote there is a God.

Cheerio!
