"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

I had my Youngevity supplements and vitamins this morning.

Today's last word ...

from reading in Zechariah 7 and Helaman 6, and from listening while walking to "Special Lessons", a talk by Elder Ronald A. Rasband in the April 2012 LDS General Conference:

"Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, Execute trueajudgment, and shew bmercy and ccompassions every man to his brother:
"And aoppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the bpoor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart."                    -- Zechariah 7:9-10
I love how I can randomly pick scriptures and conference talks and have them blend so well.  Here is a noteworthy quote from Elder Rasband's talk:

"Dear President Thomas S. Monson, who is such a magnificent example of lifting the downtrodden, said: “God bless all who endeavor to be their brother’s keeper, who give to ameliorate suffering, who strive with all that is good within them to make a better world. Have you noticed that such individuals have a brighter smile? Their footsteps are more certain. They have an aura about them of contentment and satisfaction … for one cannot participate in helping others without experiencing a rich blessing himself.”8

"Though we will face trials, adversities, disabilities, heartaches, and all manner of afflictions, our caring, loving Savior will always be there for us. "
Cheerio!

  1. The TORCH! I'm impressed with your pace with so much climbing, when are we going to get this current?

  2. I got behind in July when I crossed the country and then went to Wood Badge and had 3 weeks of limited internet access. I'm glad you're interested in my catching up, I know it would make me feel better. All I can say is I am still walking, climbing, and trying to limit eating portions and see if I can post 2 entries a day until I get caught up. But the 2 entries a day has proven to be challenging. However, the tortoise will keep trying!
