"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

3-137

This is a deadline week at work, so rather than do a long walk with a category 3 climb on Saturday, I opted to walk home from work tonight (Friday, September 14), and will walk back to back to work tomorrow morning.  This evening's walk was 3.01 miles, with 157 feet climbed in 47 minutes.  The climbing portion was HumanaFit rated category 5, my first since Tuesday, September 11, and averaged a 2.9% average grade.  Tortoise rating:  5.2. Please click on the line below for a map and additional information:
This brings my chapter 3 totals to 162.47  miles walked in 61 hours 36 minutes, with 11,733 feet climbed, and 14 swims totalling 4,640 meters in 4 hour 57 minutes.  This was my 32nd category 5 walk and my first since September 11. They total 47.21 miles, with 3,868 feet climbed in 16 hours 15 minutes. Average grade while climbing 3.68%

Took 4 of my usual 5 Youngevity supplements.  Out of Oxy Rich for now.  Took vitamins, minerals, crestor, omega 3 fish oil, low dose aspirin.  Took 8 mg of chlortrimeton allergy medicine, also 400 mg of ibuprofen for headache.  Drank 6 glasses of water.

Today's last word ... from reading in Zechariah 13 and 3 Nephi 1 ... how many times has your faith been tried, or you know of people whose faith has been tried, and it might appear that your faith was in vain ... and then at a key moment, a great blessing comes from the Lord.  How thankful we then are for our faith (and how sad that we often soon after forget and go on with our lives).  Consider then, this example:
"Now it came to pass that there was a day set apart by theaunbelievers, that all those who believed in those traditions should be bput to death except the csign should come to pass, which had been given by Samuel the prophet.
"Now it came to pass that when Nephi, the son of Nephi, saw this wickedness of his people, his heart was exceedingly sorrowful.
"And it came to pass that he went out and bowed himself down upon the earth, and cried mightily to his God in behalf of his people, yea, those who were about to be destroyed because of their faith in the tradition of their fathers.
"And it came to pass that he cried mightily unto the Lord aallthat day; and behold, the bvoice of the Lord came unto him, saying:
"Lift up your head and be of good cheer; for behold, the time is at hand, and on this night shall the asign be given, and on thebmorrow come I into the world, to show unto the world that I will fulfil all that which I have caused to be cspoken by the mouth of my holy prophets."
                                                                                                      -- 3 Nephi 1:9-13
Cheerio!
