And his attempts to find variety in his walks, avoid Terreeeblay the treadmill, keep his doctor happy and himself alive and vibrant!
"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"
until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise
P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

3-145
A variation on my standard walk of the last week or so, this morning, Saturday, September 22 ... I followed my usual path home for the first 0.8 miles, past Hurricane Elementary and Valley Academy, and along 600 North almost to the utility buildings. Then I turned and took the steep (short sections of 12% grade on a slippery rock path) East Cinder Cone trail, which rewarded me with some great views! Round trip from my office to the loop on top and back: 3.15 miles with 433 feet climbed in 1:07:22, a 21:23 minute per mile pace. The path is rated 3.4 tortoises, my first 4 tortoise bracket walk first since July 7. Click on the line below for a map, pictures, and more:
Today's last word ... from reading in 3 Nephi 14 and Matthew 1:
"And now it came to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words he turned again to the multitude, and did open his mouth unto them again, saying: Verily, verily, I say unto you, Judge not, that ye be not judged.
"For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
"And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?" -- 3 Nephi 14:1-3
