Walked half the access road to the Gould's Rim Trail, part of the Hurricane Cliffs Trail System after work today. 2.03 miles with 187 feet climbed, mostly on the return half of the walk, in 37:02 minutes. Another picture postcard afternoon, sunny, calm, blue skies, and mid 60s, that we'd better enjoy while we can. Tortoise rating: 4.1.

If you want to do the Hurricane Cliffs loop, you'll walk or mountain bike this access road. In 2.0 miles you reach highway 59, and in 0.2 more you reach the Rim trailhead. |

After about a half mile on the access road you begin to see views of the Hurricane valley. |
The access road then goes just behind the ridge with the block H that overlooks the Hurricane Valley, for about a mile. |
Retracing my steps, this is the view of the next 6 miles of hiking to the JEM trailhead on the Gooseberry mesa where highway 59 first reaches it. |
The power lines are a landmark that tells you the Goulds' Rim trailhead is only 0.1 mile further |
