"The Blog Almost Too Boring To Be The Most Boring Blog in America ... for Over 5 Years!"

until it got too many red cards from Wounded Duck and the Boredom Enforcement Committee ... now the tortoise's goal is to get to 10 red cards so he can get Big Dog to drive down and take a good long walk with the tortoise

P. S. This blog listens to its readers. We have the Benjamin Category Override for 5+ mile walks and now, it humbles Tortoise to say he has been named "Lou", by Doug Jr, in memory of Mr. Consistency himself, Lou Gehrig. Tortoise can hardly type the words to think he is in any way comparable to the noble Iron Horse. Thank you!

14-115

Walked in between appointments today, which gave me some bright sunshine and this view of some pretty flowers along the way.  I went 3.55 miles with 374 feet climbed in 1:06:25 hours.  Tortoise rating:  4.6; Calories burned:  554.  For a map and lots more pictures, please click below to continue reading ...

Cheerio!

Leaving the paved trail and continuing on

Trail Junction signs:  Go straight to continue up Tin Mine Canyon, turn right to head up the Skyline Road trail.  I tried both to get a general idea of the area.

Tin Mine Canyon has heavy vegetation and welcome shade.

A look back at the trail junction after finishing my Tin Mine Canyon leg

Views from different directions at the first major switchback
on the Skyline Road trail (my turnaround point)

Almost done.

The fork in the trail reveals two ways to get to this trail
from Corona neighborhoods.

A view back up at the hill I climbed.  This is a popular trail, there were
a dozen cars parked on both sides of the street to use it.

2014 Stats:

327.20 miles walked, which is 32.72% of my 2014 goal.
102:22:56 hours walked, which is 32.71% of my 2014 goal
15,4390 total feet climbed
52,670 calories burned
31.63% of the year has passed
I've walked on 93 of the 99 non-Sundays thus far in 2014, a 93.94% consistency rating.

The purpose of the percentages is to have a higher percentage of distance and time walked than of the year. This tells me I am on track. I'm sure this is more numbers than you are interested in, all I can say is I'm really good at setting high goals and having them slip away because I don't do them every, every day.

The tortoise is smiling!
