Mile 893. A different kind of walk today. I was the "solution person" at the family history fair today, which had me walking all over the building and beyond all day long. I have no idea how far I actually walked, if you told me it was 10 miles, I might believe you. I can walk 2 miles pretty steadily in 40 minutes, and I definitely walked 40 minutes, so that's what we will record for today. (No climbing, tortoise rating 6.1, 320 calories burned)
The fair was terrific. Every sense was touched (I wonder if the popcorn smell will linger in the building tomorrow). Lots and lots of smiles and enthusiasm among close to 500 who attended. Thanks to Willyne and everyone who made it happen!

893.14 miles walked, which is 89.22% of my 2014 goal.
281:35:12 hours walked, which is 89.96% of my 2014 goal
43,838 total feet climbed
142,125 calories burned
85.62% of the year has passed
85.62% of the year has passed
I've walked 42 consecutive non-Sundays since my last missed day on September 20, and overall have walked on 255 of the 268 non-Sundays thus far in 2014, a 95.15% consistency rating.
The purpose of the percentages is to have a higher percentage of distance and time walked than of the year. This tells Tortoise that he is on track. Yes, this is more numbers than you are likely interested in, all Tortoise can say is he's really good at setting high goals and having them slip away because he doesn't do them every, every day.
The tortoise is smiling!
The tortoise is fully up to date, has 42 consecutive walks and is almost down to his final 100 miles!!!! This is beyond awes, its uber torch! Well worthy of the Lou name :)
